Our clients contacted us in the summer of 2022 to reimagine their holiday home in Lyme Regis. The brief was to design a series of extensions and renovations throughout the home to create a bold and exciting holiday home for their extended family.
A new garden room was created, built into the gradient of the hill with doors opening onto the garden and a green roof seen from the master bedroom, blending the extension with the trees beyond. A second extension replaced an existing conservatory with a glazed snug, capturing the views over Lyme Regis towards The Cobb.
Internally, spaces were opened up to create large family entertaining rooms, bathrooms were updated and bedrooms furnished to a high standard, utilising the skills of the main contractor and a bespoke joiner.
High levels of insulation were specified throughout, with new windows, upgraded heating with an air source heat pump, and PV array with battery all used to future proof the project.
We were lucky with a straightforward planning approval process with Dorset County Council, the preferred contractor ready to start straight away and a swift construction period, enabling our clients to spend their holidays on the beautiful Dorset coast.
