Conservation And Heritage
Specialising in building conservation and the refurbishment and extension of listed and historic buildings, Living Space Architects enjoys layering new contemporary elements into historic settings, whilst retaining the historic spirit of place. While listing introduces a greater degree of control, it does not mean a building should be frozen in time but calls for well-informed and intelligent management of changes. Both directors have a wealth of experience working within conservation areas throughout the South West and London and Kirsty Curnow Bayley is a registered RIBA Conservation Architect. Our recent work includes extending and altering St Peter’s church in Lewtrehchard, the sensitive refurbishment and alteration of a large Manor House on Dartmoor and many projects within conservation areas and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We believe in forming good relationships and partnerships with Local Auhtorities & Conservation Officers to enable you to make change whilst also respecting the significance and special nature of your property.
